Biography
  • I am a Georgia native. I was born in Rome, and grew up just north of there in Chattooga County. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), where I majored in Political Science and minored in journalism.

  • I got started in the radio business while still in high school. My first day on the air was in October of 1987. I had the great fortune to get my start in radio at a small AM station (WGTA). I was even more fortunate to work for an owner who really taught me a lot about radio. I did almost everything there, from cueing records (yes, we played everything on vinyl 45's and LP's back then), to changing the paper and ribbon in the old AP machines, to covering school board meetings and news events.

  • While I was at UGA, I got my first job on an FM station. I was hired part-time at a brand new station in Athens, Magic 102. I worked on and off there during my years in college.

  • While finishing up college, I got hired part-time to do weekends in Rome at South 107. I was in school during the week, and would drive from Athens - home on Friday afternoons, work all weekend, then drive back to Athens after my shift on Sunday. I was lucky enough to be hired full-time shortly after finishing school. I spent almost 5 years (August 1993 - May 1998) working at South 107. I started doing 7pm-midnight, then moved up to the midday show, was promoted to music director, and finally into the afternoon drive show.

  • After leaving South 107, I moved to Virginia to work at a group of radio stations there. I primarily worked on the air at 107 Country PSK (WPSK). There I was the music director, and was promoted to Program Director for PSK, and eventually was placed in charge of 3 of the radio stations there. I worked in Virginia from August of 1998 through October of 2002.

  • I have been with B92 Country, WBTR, since March of 2003. I was promoted to the Position of Operations Manager and Program Director for B92 in June of 2006.

I'd like to take a moment to thank Mr. Gradick for helping to bring me back to Georgia. It is so nice to be working for someone who truely loves radio, and appreiciates those that work for him. This is a great group of people to be associated with. I'm proud to be working with them.

    Miscellaneous
Working in country music over the years has given me a great opportunity to meet some of the stars in this business. Coming soon, I'll share with you some of the pictures of me with some of country music's stars.

Here's just a few names of the people I've met:

  • Garth Brooks
  • Reba McEntire
  • Vince Gill
  • Faith Hill
  • Martina McBride
  • Toby Keith
  • Lonestar
  • And more....

    Hobbies
I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain. Oh wait! That's not right....

Seriously, I love to travel. I've visited every one of the "lower 48" states. (One day I'll make it to Alaska and Hawaii.) I've also been to Canada, England, and France. One of my favorite place to go to is Las Vegas. I try to make it there at least once a year. (and its NOT all about the gaming - the food is incredible!)

I also like to read. I like the political/spy thriller novels, Tom Clancy-type stuff.

I'm also a TV freak. I can't live without my 500 channel digital cable hook-up. I watch a lot of the pay movie channels.

One of the things I do enjoy doing in my "free time" is working as an alumni volunteer with my fraternity, Sigma Pi. I currently serve as a regional advisor/director for all our groups in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.
